  We had a really good experience here. So far I've only tried the brisket and it was very good. It was almost too much food but you can't complain about that. The atmosphere is very casual and friendly. I recommend it but it can get really crowded so it's a good idea to show up before the crowd or be prepared to wait.

  Simply the best in the area. I recommend everything on the menu except the ribs. Do explore the sides, you will be surprised to find the are as good as the pork. The decor is awesome. Don't be put off by the wait. They know how to handle the nightly long line and you will get through it quickly.

  If you are looking to eat here Sun-Wed then I pity you because they are only open Thur-Sat. That, to me, is a hallmark of a true blue delicious BBQ joint! Bar none, my new favorite BBQ place. I fancy myself a BBQ connoisseur of sorts (although my friends just say a BBQ addict).
  I ate the Pulled pork/Brisket/Rib combo so that I could try several of their offerings at once. Meat was tender, well smoked (but not overly), and juicy. They have Eastern and Western NC style sauces as well as a mustard based SC style sauce. Staff was very friendly and I even spoke to the owner's briefly who were nice and open to feedback (not that there was much to give). Dessert was delicious and you can even get it as one of your sides! JD's is about an hour from my house but I am already planning a trip back that direction just to get there again. This place is truly what NC BBQ is all about! Plain, simple, delicious.

  Christian based family owned restaurant . Not open on Sunday . Saturdays they are busting at the seams with business. Just down right good food . I've never left there hungry. P.S. You gotta try their sweet potatoes casserole.
